Sterilizing Jars

Preheat oven to 200 F.
Wash jars thoroughly including lids with rings.
Place jars and lids upright on a clean baking pan.
Place on bottom rack in the oven and ensure that the tops of the jars are not near the top stove element.
Bake jars for 12 minutes.
Fill immediately with jam leaving 1/2 gap a place lids on cleaned jar rims right away. Tighten to ensure a good seal.
